The name of my overlanding truck which is covered in stickers is Henrietta. Named after a book my wife loves.
I sell stickers so i've gone a bit overboard, haven't I? There's also another reason though. As she was once an army ambulance some countries don't like the "army look" and especially the green. So we covered her in stickers to make her look less "menacing".
You might notice the liberal use of country flag stickers from all the places we've been. So if you travel the world and need to look as silly as we do, for legitimate reasons of course, then you know where to get them. However you could apply them a little more tastefully than we have. There's a picture below of the old truck, Matilda. We only had them on the back door. An excellent talking point with the locals. Unfortunately they had faded a bit as they weren't as good as the ones i'm selling. Those were an African special......
So another couple of examples of what we have been doing. This time its some warning stickers for both LHD and RHD vehicles. I think you can work out what it means. As always let me know if this is something you'd want. The BIG stickers are 200mm.
If you don't know what this is, it's a pain in the backside is what it is. Trying to get the rankings up so the site shows in the search engines and its really hard. Everyone is of course trying to do the same and appear at number #1 in google. There's only ever a single number #1. If you know me from the overlanding blogs on my other site (www.overlandbirds.com) you will know I do lots of film titles as blog titles. Well this times its a dialog line from a film. Can you guess which....."there can be only one".....i'll give you a clue, the soundtrack is by Queen.
So if you have a blog of your own you can link this site and it might give me a boost in the rankings. I will of course do the same for you on my other blog and that ranks very high, usually number #1.
I've been working hard on getting a good set of US State Flag Stickers and Canadian Provinces Flag Stickers produced. These are still draft and a bit more work to do with checking correctness and colour accuracy but they will be in the next print run. Same price for a 4 sheet set (USA) or a single sheet (Canada) as with the other Country Flag Sticker sets.
Another 30 sets arrived from the printers.....
How big are the Flags?
The country flag stickers are 66mm wide and 51mm Tall and the country flag inside the sticker, just in case you want to cut it out to make it smaller, is 60mm wide by 35 tall.
So for the Bikers out there you can cut them to have no names and stick them to your valuable pannier space. A sharp knife is recommended! They are pretty much the ideal size for helmets and panniers. If must be said the adhesive is NOT approved for helmets BUT if you check with your helmet manufacturer you might find the adhesive will not affect them. The adhesive is a Solvent Based Acrylic. The High Tack versions are designed to stick to plastic so I cannot imagine (no warranty applied here) that it will be terminally bad. Terminal being the operative word!
I've added the sizes to the FAQ.
Yesterday the first sets of Country Flag Stickers went out to all over the World. We have deliveries to Norway, Austria, South Africa, America, Switzerland, Netherlands, France, Italy, Australia and of course the UK. We delivered full World flag sets to some and single Continent sticker sets to others. One person ordered 4 sets of Continental Europe flags so they've either got a couple of cars or they are sharing postage with a friend. Possibly a good idea as some of the postage can be expensive. I'm working on that aspect with a view to flat rate for some places. I'd also rather use someone like DHL for the international deliveries but lets see how it goes using Royal Mail.
Thanks to all the customers i'm out of stock again! Should have more tomorrow now and another 30 full sets back in. They take 3 or 4 days to print, laminate, cut and package. I'm working on the US State Flags and also English County Flags. So expect them to be added to the portfolio soon.
I'm also taking suggestions for additions to the sheets so tell me what you want.
