Some of my regular customers have already noticed but my new customers might notice a slight albeit temporary change to the stickers. You see we had a slight problem which involved a new cutting head which was held up in customs and a problem with cutting and vinyl. So a bit of a nightmare.
Whats happened you ask? You know the sheet you peel the sticker off leaving the residual sticker material in-between the removed stickers. You know the bit I mean....this bit....marked with the arrows.
We've had to remove it off hundreds of sheets. Meaning we had to sit there for a few hours picking every corner and pulling it off every sheet leaving only the actual flag behind.
What this means is the sheets don't look as pretty on delivery but everything is still the same quality. What it does also mean is they are easier to peel off the sheet. So bonus for you.
Why did we do this? Due to the cutting head fault the cuts on the sheets were not fully through the vinyl in some places. This meant the stickers were being pulled out of shape in the areas where they were still joined. The vinyl was shrinking as expected but unevenly due to the irregular cutting. So the only way to save thousands of pounds of stock was to remove the pieces in-between. So there you have it.
Its never happened before and indeed the first set of stickers we ever produced is still here with me and they look perfect on the page with the bit in-between still there. Luckily we only lost 42 sets of stickers before we noticed the problem. To those that waited for reprints. Thanks.
Another product line in the form of the GB Vienna Convention Sticker. Printed on our standard high tack vinyl and laminated. Not like the cheap poor quality ones you get from Ebay or Amazon and still a great price. You get a Union Jack to go with it. If you want to pair it with the Welsh, Scottish or English country flags just order one of those to go with it. They are only 75p !
A bit out of the blue the Mississippi flag is changing. We will get some printed off to put into the stocked sets. No idea what it looks like yet ! You'd think they would let people know. There's been a lot of chatter for a couple of years on the new flag but it was never selected. At least i think its not been selected officially. So once it is we will be ready.
It might be a compliment but some enterprising print shop in Spain has stolen my design for a Right Hand Drive and sold one to someone we know. So caught red handed so to speak.
You might note its identical to mine done as a decal.
Another happy customer with their opening window on their Pulse Ambulance. Took 10 mins to fit. Now thats a success !
Another Overlander wanted some stickers so using his existing theme we made him a new logo. All printed and cut ready for dispatch.
There you have it. Something to ruin my otherwise sunny day. A simple name change and I need to do a whole new set of flags. These will be in production on the next run or sooner if I can get an emergency run in at the printers.
Kingdom of eSwatini
The king of Swaziland Africa’s last absolute monarchy, has announced that his country has changed its name to the Kingdom of eSwatini to mark 50 years since independence from British rule. He said it keeps getting confused with Switzerland and some of his population are not happy that the "old" name is a mix of Swazi (siSwati) and English.
We are now full stocked with all the flag sets. All the new ones are in stock. We have:-
Another happy customer from the other side of the world travelling from New Zealand. I told you we do ship worldwide.
Another happy customer in the form of Guy and Shaz from TruckedOff.
I got round to putting my own stickers on my own truck. Henrietta now has all the places we've visited on the back. The ones on the side were removed and we are now sporting a single set. I messed up on the door stay......it should be in the middle of a sticker position. Oh well....
The super helpful overlanding trio that is Julie, Marcus and Cuthbert got some flag stickers. When I say some, they got the full world and when I say helpful I mean Marcus does an awesome amount of research on the quality of diesel in his blog, how if affects Euro engines and they are both also active members of the Overlanding Association. Check their blog out here. I'm sure they will be using many more of the 190 or so flags of the world they got. Happy trails guys.
Another intrepid adventure starts and they got some stickers, to go! The first one is applied and of course its the UK departure point. So follow http://www.landyonthesilkroad.com who aren't actually driving a Land Rover but a Land Cruiser. They got a full set of Europe, Asia and Oceania stickers so looks like that's the plan! I really think a full set of world flag stickers would have been more of an adventure but i'm just trying to upsell. Happy Trails !
Hopefully we will see more country flags on the window soon. Good luck guys and thanks for buying from us. See you in Australia maybe.
The name of my overlanding truck which is covered in stickers is Henrietta. Named after a book my wife loves.
I sell stickers so i've gone a bit overboard, haven't I? There's also another reason though. As she was once an army ambulance some countries don't like the "army look" and especially the green. So we covered her in stickers to make her look less "menacing".
You might notice the liberal use of country flag stickers from all the places we've been. So if you travel the world and need to look as silly as we do, for legitimate reasons of course, then you know where to get them. However you could apply them a little more tastefully than we have. There's a picture below of the old truck, Matilda. We only had them on the back door. An excellent talking point with the locals. Unfortunately they had faded a bit as they weren't as good as the ones i'm selling. Those were an African special......
